Project
Fundraising Book fairs have been held at several local bookstores. At fairs during the holiday season, library staff helped bookstore shoppers select children's books as gifts. Bookstores have donated a percentage of sales during the fair to the Book Time project. For the past several years, Barnes & Noble has held a month-long book drive to benefit Book Time With Your Baby. During the designated month, anyone who purchases a book to donate to the project receives a 10% discount on those purchases. At the end of the month, Barnes & Noble matches the number of books donated. In 2002, over 120 books were given to the Book Time project. Books were then distributed to agencies such as the Domestic Abuse Intervention Visitation Center, ISD #709 Teen Parent Program, YWCA Day Care and the St. Louis County Health Department's WIC program.
