From I-35 Northbound
through Minnesota: take the Mesaba Avenue/Superior St. exit (Exit 256A). The exit branches; take the Superior St. / Michigan St. fork. Follow the Michigan St. exit to the stop sign. The Library is ahead on the left. The metered parking lot is on the right. |
From I-35 Southbound
through Minnesota: follow Hwy 61 to I-35; take the 5th Avenue West / Lake Avenue exit (Exit 256B) and follow the signs for 5th Avenue West. Turn right (away from the lake) at Harbor Drive; go 2 blocks; the Library is on the left. To reach the public parking lot, turn left on Superior St. (Michigan St. - directly behind the Library - is a one way road); go one block and turn left on 6th Avenue West; the metered parking lot is straight ahead and to the right. |

From Hwys 194
and 53 Eastbound through Minnesota: follow Hwy 194 East past the Central Entrance business area; take the Mesaba Avenue exit heading right (down the hill); take the 2nd Avenue West/Downtown exit; go down the hill until you reach Superior St. Go right to 5th Avenue West. The Library is on the left. Go straight along Superior St. and turn left on 6th Avenue West; the metered parking lot is straight ahead and to the right. |
From Hwy 53 Northbound
through Wisconsin: follow Hwy 53 (it joins Hwy 2 from eastern Wisconsin for a short distance) through Superior, Wisconsin and across the Blatnik Bridge (which is also I-535). Take the right exit to I-35 North; follow signs toward the North Shore; take the 5th Avenue West/Lake Avenue exit. Turn left (away from the lake) on Harbor Drive; go 2 blocks; the Library is on the left. To reach the public parking lot, turn left on Superior St. (Michigan St. - directly behind the Library - is a one way road); go one block and turn left on 6th Avenue West; the metered parking lot is straight ahead and to the right. |

Library materials can be returned either inside the library or in the bookdrops during open hours. Use the bookdrops when the Library is closed. |
Bookdrops are located about midway through the building on both the Michigan St. and the Superior St. sides of the Library. The bookdrops are slots in the building walls, not free-standing structures. |
