Obituary Request Form

To request copies of obituaries from the Duluth newspapers, fill out the form below.

If you found a reference to the obituary in our Obituary Index, include all the information from the entry: name, date, page and newspaper (Tribune or Herald).

If the death predates our index or doesn't appear in our index, you may still submit the request. Fill in the person's name and any other information that you know (approximate date of death, town, etc.). Library staff will try to find an obituary, but we cannot promise results. Newspapers from the early 1900s often did not include many obituaries.

There is a $2.00 charge for each obituary you request. The Library will send you a bill and instructions for payment along with the copies. Be sure to include your mailing address in the form below.
