As a visual indication of appreciation to our generous contributors, the Duluth Library Foundation installed a Donor Recognition Wall on the Superior Street level of the Main Library. With the donor's permission, once cumulative contributions reach $500 or more, the name of the donor or the name of someone the donor wishes to honor or memorialize is added to the Wall.
The Donor Recognition Wall was constructed in such a way that donor names are removed from one category and placed in a different category as contributions accumulate and the next level is reached.
|Emily Dickinson||Gifts of $500 to $999|
|Mark Twain||Gifts of $1,000 to $2,499|
|Jane Austen||Gifts of $2,500 to $4,999|
|William Shakespeare||Gifts of $5,000 to $9,999|
|Andrew Carnegie||Gifts over $10,000|
|At the Andrew Carnegie level, the highest level of contributions, individual plaques are added to the Donor Wall area. Contributors at this level are designated Foundation Philanthropists. This level has been named after the best-known financial supporter of libraries.||
All donations to the Duluth Library Foundation are recorded and the value of gifts accumulates over time. Cumulative donations allow donors to move from category to category throughout their lifetime. Names are added and/or moved on a quarterly basis.
